Imperial Resorts

Decorative sculptures on balconies, verandas, large windows, portals in front of the entrances, wide stairs - the architecture of the "Three Imperial Resorts" is unique on a global scale. Nowhere else is there so many decorations and variety. The owners of that time competed with each other and thought that tourists should be attracted by beauty. They had great taste and big wallets, so they left elegant villas and guesthouses. Thanks to different fascinations of their owners, the report also differ from each other. Some are wooden and decorated with ornaments, and others resemble miniatures of Berlin tenements.

Buildings usually have 2 of 4 floors. Summer residences were created at the turn of the century. The houses are not similar, but they are distinguished by their diversity. Germany describes this building as spa architecture (German: Bäderarchitektur). Luxurious villas costed a fortune. At the time, however, money was not a case. Berliners who appreciated the charms of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, Bansin, and pre-war Świnoujście (German: Swinemunde) were to be a place of rest and a synonym of luxury.
