Park Zdrojowy

The establishment of the Park Zdrojowy coincides with the beginnings of the city of Świnoujście in 1765 and the construction of the resort half a century later. The opening of the first summer season took place in 1824, and the first spa house was opened in 1826 (it was located near the port quay). Unfortunately, it was demolished immediately after the outbreak of World War I). The senior president of Pomerania (Kingdom of Prussia) Johann August von Sack got involved in the development of the spa, thanks to which the project of the Park Zdrojowy was developed by Peter Joseph Lenne, the famous Prussian garden architect. In 1827, P. J. Lenne sent about 1.5 thousand seedlings of trees and shrubs from Sanssouci. The next year, the park was already properly arranged. The entrance to the Park Zdrojowy is several meters from the Rondo Apartments.
