Windmill being a symbol of youth

The windmill is one of the most popular symbols of Świnoujście, its image can be found in brochures and guides. People who want to see the windmill up close will certainly experience an unforgettable adventure as it is located in a very picturesque place. There is a legend associated with Stawa Młyny, which says that at the time when Świnoujście became a port city, the inhabitants began working on ships and going on long trips. After returning home, they were always older, and their faces were destroyed by a long stay at sea. The wife of one of the sailors could not accept that her husband Krzysztof had grown old. She went ashore at night and cried. The old miller heard it and told her to come with her husband the next day. The sailor was to walk, bathe in the sea and cover the mud. After a week, the miller took the sailor inside the windmill for secret treatment, Krzysztof walked out rejuvenated. The news spread quickly, and other sailors also began to visit the windmill. However, the time came when death took the old miller. No one knew his secret way of rejuvenation, and at the moment of the miller's death, the windmill mechanism stopped. Despite this, people who fight for their young appearance come to Świnoujście and follow the advice the miller shared with Krzysztof.
